New storm sewer infrastructure to be installed

Texas Border Business

Beginning on Monday, August 19 and continuing through Sunday, August 25, 2019, Harvey Avenue, east and west bound, between 23rd Street and Bicentennial Boulevard will be completely closed to all through traffic for utility work. (see enclosed map)

The contractor will be installing new storm sewer infrastructure as part of the Westway Heights Drainage Improvements Project, which should help alleviate flooding in the area during heavy rain. This project is funded by the FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.

Motorists are urged to find alternate routes during the road closure and exercise extreme caution and patience when traveling along in the area.  Motorists should expect some delays and congestion.
