Pharr, Texas – Pharr Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D. and the Phar City Commission are proud to announce that the city will host its 4th Annual State of the City on Thursday, January 16, 2020, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Pharr Events Center (3000 N. Cage Blvd). Later that same day, from 5 pm to 9 pm, there will be a free public event at the Pharr Events Center to celebrate the city’s 111th Birthday. 

“Our outlook in Pharr is bright, prosperous, and filled with exciting new projects,” Mayor Hernandez stated. “Over the last year, we have seen tremendous growth, progress, and economic development throughout Pharr, marking a year of strong financial revenues, enhanced services for our community, and improved quality of life for our Pharr families,” he added.

“The City of Pharr had a great year and we are especially thankful for our outstanding team of city administrators, staff, and employees, who together with our city commission and citizens continue to make Pharr a great place to live, work, play, and stay,” continued Hernandez. “We look forward to sharing our accomplishments with you at this year’s State of the City Address as we have so much great news to share and report back to our community regarding our 2019 successes and look forward to highlighting what we have in store for 2020,” said Hernandez. 

This will be the City of Pharr’s 4th Annual State of the City, an event that has become a staple in Pharr for highlighting the city’s achievements and setting goals for the year to follow. Individuals tickets are still available at $100 per person and will be sold at the door on a first-come, first-serve basis as availability is limited.

This event will also be live-streamed via the City of Pharr’s website at http://pharr-tx.gov/state-of-the-city/

Following the State of the City, Pharr city officials invite the public to join them from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM for a free, fun evening at the Pharr Events Center to commemorate Pharr’s 111th Birthday Celebration. The event will feature live music, a piñata, goody bags, raffle prizes, cake, and more! All media and the public are invited to attend this FREE event.
