Texas Border Business

Starting on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, two City of McAllen aquatics facilities will reopen.  As part of Phase 2 reopening plans, the Municipal and Boys & Girls Club Pools will be available to adult lap swimmers Tuesdays through Saturdays. 

Municipal Pool, located at 1921 N. Bicentennial Blvd., will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on days of operation.  The operating hours for Boys & Girls Club Pool, located at 617 S. 27th St., will be from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. each day. 

Pools will operate in 45-minute sessions that require a reservation. 

Safety measures will be in place to maintain public health. Face masks are required for all patrons while not in the pool. Swimmers should maintain social distance from others.

Swimmers interested in a reservation should contact Kori Waters, Superintendent of Aquatics at kwaters@mcallen.net for more information.

The City of McAllen Parks & Recreation Department encourages residents to continue to check the Hidalgo County Health & Human Services Department and Centers for Disease Control websites for the most up-to-date information and guidance.
