McAllen, TX – Sunset Live, McAllen and the Rio Grande Valley’s favorite outdoor concert series is back! The first concert of the 13th season will be held on Saturday April 13, 2019 at the McAllen Convention Center Oval Park, 700 Convention Center Boulevard, with the free, family and pet-friendly event opening at 5:00 p.m. and continuing until 9:00 p.m.

With about a dozen regional and national bands that range in style from Indie to Blues playing on one stage, Sunset Live packs plenty of entertainment in one season.

April Concert Line-Up

The Adult Kids: Edinburg natives who find inspiration from bands like Blink 182 and Green Day

Dirty Motel: McAllen natives who you will find eating a Kahn’s Grill whenever they aren’t on stage.

Kobe Patterson: Edinburg natives who find music inspiration from artist like Jimi Hendrix and Frank Ocean.

Rockstar Denied: Brownsville natives that will have you singing along to hit songs from the last seven decades.  

Shake Yo’ Brass: 5-piece brass band from the Rio Grande Valley.    

Sunset Live is about a lot more than great live music. This concert series combines stellar music, fun outdoor activities, a variety of food trucks, beverages, and local artisans, all to create one of the most popular music gatherings in the Rio Grande Valley.

The upcoming 2019 Sunset Live Spring season dates are April 13; May 11; and June 8.

The series, which has hosted over 38 concerts since the first season in 2013, is the leader the Rio Grande Valley in outdoor live music, with an average of 36,000 annual attendees to date and growing. With about a dozen regional and national bands that range in style from indie to blues, rock or Latin-infusted jazz and everything in between, playing on one stage, Sunset Live packs plenty of entertainment into one season.

Held every second Saturday of the month, with three concerts in the spring and three concerts in the fall, Sunset Live focuses on promoting the arts and giving up-and-coming artists and musicians a different type of exposure outside of the local bar scene.
