In an abundance of caution, the next regularly-scheduled City of McAllen Commission meeting, set for Monday, August 24, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. will be held via ZOOM only.

For those wishing to make public comments, please call McAllen’s City Secretary’s Office at 681-1020 by no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24 to sign up for forms and information to make a public comment or for comments on an agenda item.

Please note that only citizens who sign up for public speaking, or zoning/variance participants will be allowed to connect to meeting with video. Additionally, no one will be able to unmute unless they ask to speak; City of McAllen staff will unmute them.

Please note that anyone who calls in from their phone will have their phone number visible on the live channel and the recorded meeting. 

McAllen residents who are Spectrum cable subscribers may watch the teleconferenced live commissioners meeting on channel MCN Spectrum 1300, starting at 5:00 p.m.

All others may view the meeting live here: https://www.mcallen.net/departments/media/mcn-1300-live, live-streamed on the McAllen 3-1-1 mobile app or on antenna channel KAZH-LP 57-1.

McAllen city officials will monitor to ensure that the number of persons in the room does not exceed 10 people. Department directors will enter the room when item is addressed. Members of the public will not be allowed in the room, even if they would like to make a comment in the public comments or on agenda item. 

The media will not be allowed in the building. For interview requests, please continue to contact Xochitl Mora to arrange those over the phone or at the appropriate distance. 

The City of McAllenrecognizes the need and importance of transparency as it governs and maintains its daily operations while limiting exposure to employees and the public alike.
