Habitat for Humanity and the McAllen South Rotary Club will be celebrating the completion of their newest home in McAllen at their open house and home dedication for the Castillo family. The McAllen South Rotary Club proudly partnered with HFH to build their second Habitat home in McAllen and generously donated $25,000; other sponsors include the City of McAllen’s Imagine 1 Tomorrow program, McCoy’s Building Supply and Texas Regional Bank. Habitat’s partner family, Cecilia Castillo, is a hard working mother who lives in a single room and shares a bed with her three children. After overcoming domestic abuse, she became a police officer to serve and protect others.

Ash Ave., off Business 83 in McAllen and 1305 Oklahoma off Business 77/Sunshine Strip in Harlingen. Habitat offers a “hand up” and not a “hand out” to low income families from the four county region. Family partners must be hard working, low income residents that may not be able to qualify for a traditional mortgage.
