Texas Border Business

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley arrested three gang members and a child predator over the last few days.

On Friday, McAllen agents working near Mission, Texas, arrested a Salvadoran national after he entered the United States illegally. During processing, record checks revealed he is a Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member. Additionally, record checks indicated the man has a criminal conviction for aggravated homicide in El Salvador.

On Sunday, agents from the Rio Grande City station working near Roma, Texas, arrested a Guatemalan national after he entered the United States illegally. Record checks revealed a previous arrest in the state of Virginia for sexual fondling of a child.

On Monday, agents working near Harlingen, Texas, arrested a group of 15 illegal aliens after they entered the United States illegally. During processing, record checks for a man, later identified as a Salvadoran national revealed he is a Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member with an extensive criminal history. The man’s criminal history includes possession of a prohibited weapon and rape all occurring in the state of Tennessee. 

A short while later, Rio Grande City agents working near Roma, Texas arrested a Salvadoran national whose record checks revealed he is a member of the Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang with a criminal history to include possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest.

The Border Patrol is processing both subjects accordingly.
