Washington — U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement after voting for a motion that would give Congress a role in the Administration’s imposition of tariffs on imports related to national security:

“Here in the top exporting state in the nation, Texans know that preserving an open global market for our goods promotes commerce, creates jobs, and keeps prices low at home,” said Sen. Cornyn.  “I’m proud to represent a state with such strong economic growth, and I know that’s in part because Texas producers supply goods to customers around the world.  This is a vote for American prosperity and a vote to allow Texas industries to continue to thrive.”
