City of McAllen to Offer Free Parking in Downtown McAllen

To better serve the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, the McAllen Downtown Parking Services is offering free parking to all visitors to the area, effective tomorrow, Friday, March 27, 2020.  People visiting downtown McAllen do not have to pay to park and will not be fined for parking violations during this time.

Please observe all designated parking for American and Disabilities (ADA), fire and emergency parking areas, off-street parking lots, and construction work areas.  The City of McAllen’s code enforcement officers will continue to patrol the downtown area for public safety violations.

McAllen’s Downtown Parking Garage will have normal parking operations for convenience and parking fees will remain the same. 

Metro McAllen continues to follow the Stay at Home Order.  Anyone wishing to come to downtown McAllen is reminded to use discretion in traveling for themselves and their family.

Vehicles cannot be parked at a space for a period exceeding 24 hours.
