The Women’s committee of the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce proudly recognize 11 women for their accomplishments and contributions with the 2015 “RGV Women of Distinction Award”.  To be honored this year on Tuesday, June 30th at The Social Club in Edinburg are:  Government, Mayor of San Juan, San Juanita Sanchez; Military, Jessica Salinas; Education, Janie Caballero; Professional Linda Tovar of HEB and Cris Rivera of Rio Grande Regional; Rising Star, Sarah Hammond, Atlas Electric & A/C; Arts & Entertainment, Letty Valadez Garza  of KRGV-TV5; Humanitarian, Yolanda Barrera, Community Leader, Entrepreneur, Sara Cantu of Cantu Beef Masters and Sandy Pena of Lionel’s Western Wear and lastly, Twinkling Star, Genesis Nava, an aspiring 13 year old singer.

All of the ladies are superior in their areas and have made huge strides in their fields….from the young to the more mature women.  “We realize that women make the world go round and these ladies certainly do” noted Cynthia M. Sakulenzki, RGVHCC Pres/CEO.  “They have made a huge impact here in the Rio Grande Valley.  We are very lucky to have this quality of women here in the Valley.  Women who help make our communities and Valley a great place to live and work”.  Sakulenzki added.

The evenings event begins at 6:00pm with a Social Hour and dinner and awards beginning at 7:00pm.  Tickets are $35 with tables of 10 for $500.  Sponsorships are also available at $1,00, $2,000 and $3,000.  For more information and/or to purchase tickets call the RGVHCC office at 928-0060.
