Small business owners are invited to attend a free seminar on Introduction to Social Media on August 7, 2014 from 10 am to 12 pm.  The session will be held at the UTPA Starr County Campus, located at 138 N. FM 3167 in Rio Grande City.

The “Introduction to Social Media” seminar covers basic & advanced strategies as well as tools for small businesses.

“Most business owners are familiar with social media and may already have a social presence online but few entrepreneurs understand how social networking ties into an existing marketing strategy.  Much like print or radio ads, social media marketing must also be in line with existing branding efforts. This is important to know when planning campaigns and measuring results and especially when allocating marketing resources within a company “says Balde Morales, a Business Advisor with the UTPA Small Business Development Center.
