LesFic writer to present ‘a tale of taking the less obvious career path

McAllen TX (February 22, 2017) – In conjunction with Library Services and Open, Equal and Free, the Student LGBTQ group at South Texas College, STC’s English Department presents author and former astronaut trainer Dr. Lacey Schmidt on Feb. 27.

Dr. Schmidt will be speakiing about her life experiences. As a writer in the emerging genre of LesFic (lesbian fiction), she will also speak about her two novels “A Walk Away” and “Catch to Release” during her talk at STC’s Rainbow Room from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.   

Holding a Ph.D in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Dr. Schmidt was previously employed by NASA, where she selected astronauts vying for the Space Program. Currently, she owns her own consulting business, Minerva Work Solutions, a firm that applies psychology-based science to coaching, training, development, and many other aspects of work for individuals, teams, and organizations.
